When displaying product images on a retail site, the site needs to handle the sheer volume of images and provide images that are large enough to see the prodcut's detail. I created a tool that organized the images and created an interactive tool that's simple to use, accommodating users of all abilities.
Developed for Rocky Mountain Trail, this tool allows the user to zoom and pan around each product image in stock, in all avaiable colors.
Every color and alternate photo of a product is loaded into the zoom tool by a dynamically generated xml file that is database driven via VB .NET. The skin of the tool, each large zoom image, and thumbnails are all loaded individually and separately for fast load times.
The thumbnail column scrolls, accommodating any number of product thumbnails.
